Homeowner Growing and Maintenance Tips:

Prefers fertile, well-drained soil with organic matter and full to partial sun. Place in areas sheltered from heavy winds. Provide supplemental water in dry weather for best results, it is drought tolerant once established. Pinch plants back when they are 6-8 in tall before the 4th of July to encourage a bushier habit and more flowers. Cut back to near ground level in the fall, add mulch for winter protection in very cold areas and remove in spring. Plants can be divided in late spring.
